- Story Text:A spokesman for the Syrian opposition delegation welcomed on Sunday (July 9) the U.S-Russian brokered ceasefire in Southwest Syria which came into effect hours before and which was still holding on Sunday evening, insisting that they wished such a ceasefire was extended to the whole war-torn country.
The delegation's spokesman, Dr Yahya Al-Aridi, was speaking from Geneva, on the eve of a seventh fresh round of U.N.-sponsored peace talks aimed at finding a political solution to a war in which more than 400,000 people have been killed. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
