- Story Text:Kenya's Jubilee party supporters celebrated in their Nairobi headquarters on Friday (August 11) ahead of an expected announcement that Uhuru Kenyatta has been re-elected as president, despite allegations by opposition leader Raila Odinga of vote-rigging.
The Electoral Commission was due to announce the final results at 1930 local (1630 GMT), the time that his opponent's party officials were declaring to the media that they refused to accept the results.
Provisional results from all but a few polling stations show President Uhuru Kenyatta with a lead of 1.4 million votes as he vies for a second and final five-year term. His opponent, NASA Coalition leader Raila Odinga, has lost the last two elections, claiming fraud in both cases. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
