- Story Text: Residents in Sierra Leone's Regent area evacuated on Friday (August 18) fearing another deadly mudslide after the one that has already killed more than 400 people.
The cracks on a hill adjacent to Sugar Loaf Mountain are prompting the government and humanitarian organisations to issue the evacuation order.
The United Nations have been using drones and satellite images to help provide mapping for further risk areas and said with the onset of more rain there was a risk of a second landslide.
The mudslide on Monday (August 14) was one of Africa's worst flood-related disasters in living memory and struck Sierra Leone only a year after it began its recovery from the 2014-16 Ebola epidemic that killed 4,000 people in the former British colony. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
