- Story Text: Thailand has signed a three-year contract to bring a Thailand race to the MotoGP calendar from 2018.
Dorna Sport's chief executive officer Carmelo Ezpeleta signed a contract in Bangkok on Thursday (August 31) and shook hands with Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister General Tanasak Patimaprakorn and Sports Authority Governor Sakol Wannapong.
Dates have not been allocated but the Thailand race will take place at the Buriram circuit, north-east of Bangkok. Rounds of the World Superbike championship, also owned by Dorna, already take place at the track.
