- Story Text: Seoul's Yonhap news agency reported that an 5.6M earthquake was recorded on Sunday (September 3) in North Korea near the country's known nuclear test site Punggye-ri.
The quake appeared to have been man-made, Yonhap quoted South Korea's meteorological agency as saying, suggesting the isolated country had conducted a sixth nuclear test.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake struck 55 km north northwest of Kimchaek. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. - Copyright Holder: FILE REUTERS (CAN SELL)
