'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' had its world premiere on Monday (September 18) in London.
The film features Elton John playing himself: at the premiere the singer/songwriter was driven down the orange carpet. Co-star Channing Tatum said he was excited any time Elton was at an event.
"Oh my god, you kidding me. I mean like, any time you get to just see him in person it's like you know seeing royalty [screams] and then it's over and you just think of it as a dream. You go I think I saw Elton John," he said standing with wife Jenna Dewan.
Speaking on the orange carpet Julianne Moore said she loved playing 'Poppy', the villain and druglord in the film, because the character had eccentricities.
"I like the fact that she was living in her own world of her own creation and she had no parameters on her behavior that she had accomplished a lot and she amused me because she's a megalomaniac. That's always fun. It's always fun to play somebody like that," said Moore.
'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' deals with the morality of drug use and the criminalization of banned substances, something director Matthew Vaughn said needs to be discussed.
"I think we need to have an open healthy debate. Prohibition of drugs isn't working and therefore why don't we figure out a way of doing it that if there's going to be drugs in this world it can be done in a way that people don't necessarily have to get hurt by it, and maybe we can make money out of it. I don't know, I don't know the answer but I think that's a proper debate," he said.
Other stars on the carpet included Halle Berry and Julianne Moore.
