- Story Text: Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" descended on Cleveland, Ohio, on Monday (July 18), where it will be broadcast during the Republican National Convention.
Host Trevor Noah, who frequently satirizes the party's presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump, said the event was sure to provide plenty of comedic fodder.
"The Republican National Convention is quite insane," he told reporters during a news conference at the site of "The Daily Show Convention Sideshow", a special exhibit with interactive games for the public.
The actual show will air from July 19 to July 22 at The Breen Center for the Performing Arts under the name, "Submission Accomplished".
"It is quite a thing to see a party and a group of people succumb to the will of -- I don't even want to call him a madman... just like a really dangerous bafoon who has hijacked their party," said Noah of Trump.
This will be the first U.S. political convention for the show since Noah became host. He replaced Jon Stewart last year.
Noah, a 32-year-old comedian, who moved to the United States in 2011, was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
