- Story Text: Cult American film director David Lynch has announced plans to found a cinematography institute named after him in Georgia.
On a visit to the capital Tbilisi on Monday (November 20), the 71-year-old director praised Georgia's "fantastic feeling" and discussed plans for a film school, which he said could also lead to an international film festival.
Lynch is still to negotiate the location and details of the institute with local authorities, which welcomed the idea.
Tbilisi residents got the chance to meet Lynch at a signing session ahead of a screening of his film "Mulholland Drive", for which he was jointly awarded Best Director at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
