JANE GOODALL, SAYING: "[JOURNALIST ASKS: Do they face an outsize impact from the effects of climate change?] [OFF CAMERA: PENDANT WORN BY GOODALL] I think everywhere [ON CAMERA] I've been the indigenous people face some kind of threats that have been imposed by development. And, in some cases they've been forced out of their forest homes because of logging or mining. Climate change - well, it's affecting everybody, not just the indigenous communities, it's affecting all of us. And, so many people refuse to recognize the effect it's already having, so many people think: oh, this is something that'll happen in the future. But, it's happening now."

- Story Text: Famed British primatologist and conservationist Jane Goodall is in Argentina for the closing of a world tour to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Jane Goodall Institute.
The Jane Goodall Institute continues to carry out the decades-long scientific study of chimpanzees begun by Goodall in Tanzania and raises funds to protect chimps and their habitats.
Speaking about Latin America, Goodall said, "I think that the problems involving the environment in Latin America are very much the same as those in many other countries, and of course fighting corruption is one, and that's unfortunately pervasive all over the world."
Goodall also addressed climate change, saying that "it's affecting all of us," and she stated that China is, "leading the push for clean, green energy, and taking the lead now that America has backed out of the Paris Agreement."
Goodall will be in Argentina for a series of events from November 22 to 25. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
