- Story Text: Indonesia's disaster mitigation agency said on Monday (November 27) it had raised the alert to the highest level four on Bali's Mount Agung volcano and warned residents in a 8-10 km (5-6 miles) radius around the volcano to evacuate immediately.
In a statement released by the country's Disaster Mitigation Agency, grey ash was seen rising from the craters, with visible flames accompanied with weak combustions, signalling the volcano could erupt imminently.
The volcano rises majestically over eastern Bali at a height of just over 3,000 metres. When it last erupted in 1963 it killed more than 1,000 people and razed several villages. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
