INTERVIEWER "During the time that you've been here, you've talked to alot or people, but do you really think that you get close to real opinions and what ordinary people are talking about, because or the very ??? or the Job you are doing?" PRINCE CHARLES "This is a difficulty , always, to understand and appreciate what people are talking about...the advantage is that I can talk to anybody about anything, This I find a great advantage about this job." INTERVIEWER "Do you think your position inhibits people as to what they say to you?" PRINCE CHARLES "Sometimes it does, you always get people who don't mind what on earth they say....in Australia..you've got a reputation for being forthright and found..people don't mind what they say in Australia at all" INTERVIEWER "What forthright things have Australians said?" PRINCE CHARLES "I spoke to some workmen at the Westgate Bridge, over the Yarrow, and they didn't mind what they said." "Is there more behind your visit, than meets the eye? Are you gong to buy some property or become Governor General......?" ".....the main reason I'm here is to open the Anglo-Australian Telescope and to attend 150th Anniversary of Parliament....." INTERVIEWER "What are your views on the role or old and young people in society, and the parts to they can play in Britain?" PRINCE CHARLES "I'm intrigued with the problem or houses and interests of young people....difficulty fies in urban areas with limited resources and entertainment which brings out aggression...." "What do you mean by the role or monarchy has stabilising influence?" "...I feel that the monarchy provinces social essence to the community..." INTERVIEWER "Do the increasing pressures that you face worry you:" PRINCE CHARLES "No, they're something I've learnt to live with..I look forward to solving as many problems as possible...". INTERVIEWER "Do you ever feel you would like to work in a different field?" PRINCE CHARLES "I feel the Navy gives me a Chance to do Different...I go all over the world and meet the most fascinating people...." ....does more harm to the gill involved that to me because I'm used to the Press. ....I feel it's wrong to do exposes too often Initials Script is copyright Reuters Limited.
