- Story Text: German brand Marc Cain presented its Autumn/Winter 2018 collection at the 21st Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin on Tuesday (January 16), throwing back to the 1980s with power suits, latex, tights and leggings in vibrant colours.
Director of design, Karin Veit, told Reuters this season's look was inspired by blending masculine and feminine elements, offsetting structured materials and strong lines with touches of chiffon and glitter.
Models could be seen backstage with their hair set up in curlers, achieving a tight corkscrew do on the runway perfectly reminiscent of the perms that were popular of the era.
Victoria's Secret model Georgia Fowler opened the show in a leopard print jacket and bold red tights, commenting before the show that the #MeToo movement was "a great push forward in the right direction" for the entertainment industry.
Headquartered in Bodelhausen, Marc Cain was founded in 1973 by Helmut Schlotterer and is available in hundreds of retail stores and stand-alone locations across 59 different countries, according to the company's website. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
