KEEGAN WALKING INTO NEWS CONFERENCE 4. JOURNALISTS LISTENING TO KEEGAN 5. SOUNDBITE (English) KEEGAN SAYING: "Steve McManaman, I would say on a slightly more positive note, he maybe has a chance for the second game (against Romania) if he responds well to treatment, but again, until we've had the scan the which we get this afternoon, I can't fully clarify that." 6. VIEW OF JOURNALISTS 7. SOUNDBITE (English) KEEGAN SAYING: "You know we all came back a little bit shell shocked because we got the dream start we wanted and worked so hard for. But in the end we didn't get anything out of the game and you can look back, I can certainly think of a few things we could have done better, but there was a lot of plusses which get lost in there when you get defeated. You know we looked to cause them a lot of problems which we thought we could, our finishing was good. Certainly the character was good because they had a lot of possession of the football and made us work very hard when they had it." 8. CUTAWAY 9. SOUNDBITE (English) KEEGAN SAYING: "Germany was always going to be a big game if I was sat here today and I would prefer to be sat here today having had a great result last night, we'd still be saying the same things about the Germany game that were going to be saying tomorrow and the day after. It's a big game, it's Germany, they've turned us over a few times, we haven't had the luck, they seem to get that, you know all those sort of things will be the same. But the good news is from the players point of view is because it's Germany and because it's in our own hands as well, we know what we've got to do. Now if were not capable of doing that, we have to face whatever is coming our way." 10. WIDE OF NEWS CONFERENCE Initials Script is copyright Reuters Limited. All rights reserved
