- Story Text: South Korean fans were disappointed after watching their country's tennis sensation Chung Hyeon retire with a blistered foot when trailing 6-1 5-2 to defending champion Roger Federer in the Australian Open semi-finals in Melbourne on Friday (January 26).
About 200 fans gathered at an auditorium of a Seoul high school to watch the match, the first meeting between the 19-times grand slam champion Federer and the man whose stunning fourth-round victory over six-times Melbourne champion Novak Djokovic made the world sit up and take notice.
Chung, the first South Korean to reach a grand slam semi-final, was bidding to become the first man to reach his first Tour level final at a grand slam since Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the Australian Open 10 years ago. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
