- Title: U.S.A.: PAINTINGS OF BOLIVIAN ARTIST INVOLVED IN ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON POPE.
- Date: 30th November 1970
- Summary: 1. MV PAN Various paintings at exhibition 0.08 2. CV Mrs Duncan ZOOM OUT TO painting 1.01 TRANSCRIPT (SEQ 2): DUNCAN: "Well, this is one of his very strong paintings he made in Bolivia, while he was still in Bolivia. He had a whole series of work that he intended to show in New York, and in art galleries larger than mine. I suppose he wanted to show his feelings about the world and life in Bolivia because this is one of the representations. The others were the concern about the people, the Indians, working in the mines in Bolivia and the very poor people in the slum areas we all know are existing. I really believe that this man is one of the most talented of my artists. I would have done this without even knowing sometime he's in Hong Kong and Tokyo doing one thing, or teaching another. But to me he's always been one of the my best artists, and I have a lot of respect for him in that order". Initials OJP/JF/MH/1407 OJP/JF/MH/1457 Script is copyright Reuters Limited.
