But now we put it out in the world and the messages you're getting. It's the smallest message, the smallest things you read about the song and how you inspire people, how you help people. And that was the goal, we wanted to make a song that is timeless and that will inspire people to do anything."

- Story Text: The unlikely pairing of a Dutch EDM DJ and an American subway soul singer has resulted in the inspirational track "Dreamer."
Martin Garrix said he got goosebumps the first time he heard 60-year-old Mike Yung sing and knew he wanted to collaborate with him.
"We make such different music, so to combine our sounds and find a way to balance in the middle it was cool, it was a learning process," said Garrix.
Yung, who was a contestant on 'America's Got Talent' in 2017, wasn't aware of Garrix popularity, but said his kids "went nuts."
"'Dad, do you know who you're singing with, do you know who you're with?' I said, 'yeah, he's a cool guy.' He said, 'no, you don't have no idea,'" Yung said after 38 years of singing on New York City subways.
The duo co-wrote the hook to the song in Amsterdam, with Garrix putting the finishing touches on the song which they hope will uplift people.
"We put it out in the world and the messages you're getting. It's the smallest message, the smallest things you read about the song and how you inspire people, how you help people," said Garrix.
