I know that in the days to come, I'm going to mourn that we won't be getting together and making these wild movies again but at the moment it feels quite celebratory." DIRECTOR JJ ABRAMS (SOUNDBITE) (English) DIRECTOR, JJ ABRAMS, SAYING: "I'm excited. I cannot wait. When you work on a movie for two years, it's definitely a tricky, long, but difficult and ultimately rewarding process but until it's out in the world, you don't know. It's up to the audience to decide." I definitely feels like something that I stopped thinking about and luckily, I moved onto other projects after that which helped to step away from Star Wars after a while and then come back and visit it when it was ready to be seen by world. Ugh. Yeah and now I'm here and it feels really easy. After a while people stopped asking me because they knew I wasn't going to say anything."

- Story Text: It was a sad day for the cast and crew of the latest 'Star Wars' trilogy as the final film 'The Rise of Skywalker' was premiered in Hollywood on Monday (December 16).
Not only does it mark the end of the trilogy which started with 'The Force Awakens' and introduced the world to Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac), but it also marks the end of the Skywalker Saga which began with the very first Star Wars film - 'A New Hope' - back in 1977.
John Boyega told Reuters at the premiere "I've been quite numb after watching it for the first time. That's because taking it in, it embodies much more to me - it's more than the movie. I'm not taking it in the way that you would go in - is this film going to be good or not? This is literally like a chunk of my life plastered onto the screen which now everyone sees as entertainment. For me, just to see our baby make that transition is something that... I'm curious to know how I'm going to feel."
Isaac said "You know, we've been climbing this mountain for however long, for six years so at the moment, it feels like we've made it to the top and so we're celebrating it. I know that in the days to come, I'm going to mourn that we won't be getting together and making these wild movies again but at the moment it feels quite celebratory."
Both the first film and the last film in the trilogy have been directed by JJ Abrams. He said, "We definitely want to make sure audiences feel in their minds like with any ending that hopefully moves you that it can mean the opening of other doors but we designed this movie very much to be the end of the saga."
The future of the 'Star Wars' franchise is now up in the air after numerous reports of new films have come and gone.
Bob Iger, the CEO of Walt Disney Pictures said that there will be future films but wouldn't confirm any details, saying "We haven't said what it will be. We've suggested when it will be. We're going to make sure we take our time until we know that it's right."
In the meantime, fans can watch the conclusion 'The Rise of Skywalker' when it hits cinemas on December 20 in the United States. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
