- Story Text: For Hashem Younes, cooking spicy food is not merely a job to make ends meet, it is a passion. He is so passionate that he challenges his customers in Amman to try what he says is the spiciest chicken liver sandwich in town.
The 49-year-old chef, who opened his restaurant five years ago, says being excited while cooking is often reflected in the taste.
Spices imported from the U.S., Mexico and India, among other places, are added to Younes' signature recipe, but the spiciest of them all is called "Carolina reaper".
At his "Liver and Spices" restaurant, customers say Younes offers the spiciest sandwiches they have tasted.
To avoid customer complaints or possible health complications, Younes makes sure customers sign a disclaimer before accepting the challenge.
The price of a single sandwich ranges between 1 to 2 Jordanian dinars ($1.4-$2.8).
