- Story Text: An 85-year-old woman appeared before a Wuppertal court on Tuesday (February 16) accused of drug dealing.
Known only as Hannelore M., the accused appeared before the judge together with her son, Thomas M. and grandson, Bjorn M. on charges of dealing in heroin. Two other people are also accused of being involved in the crime.
"The five defendants are accused of repeated narcotics trafficking between March 2008 and August 2009. Among other things, they allegedly brought heroin from the Netherlands to Germany and illegally distributed it here," court spokesman Thorsten Anger explained to Reuters.
The woman initially only dealt with her son, but Anger says she later involved her grandson and another of the accused and they all operated together as a drug dealing gang.
Anger said she smuggled heroin from the Netherlands into Germany and last year began using her apartment as a drug storage location.
If found guilty, the accused could spend five to 15 years in prison.
