And so the way it feels right now is it's great to be outside and be at a premiere, for this film to be finally out there and for people to see it. We worked very hard on the film and it was shot pre-pandemic, so it's been 18 months since we wrapped this film. It was going to be in the theaters last year but, like a lot of films, it kept getting pushed and pushed, but you know what? We found a great distribution partner in Amazon and I'm thrilled that people get to watch this at home and have this experience right now. They deserve a summer blockbuster and they can do it from the comfort of their own home in their pajamas. Just put your phone down. That's all."

- Story Text:Hollywood actor Chris Pratt held the world premiere for his latest film 'The Tomorrow War' at the Banc of California Stadium in downtown Los Angeles.
However, it wasn't a usual premiere for him. Pratt for the first time executive produced the movie, whose release date kept being delayed by the pandemic until it was bought by streaming service Amazon Studios.
Asked how he felt to finally be launching the film, Pratt answered, "It's great to be outside and be at a premiere, for this film to be finally out there and for people to see it."
The film, despite its epic scale and state-of-the-art special effects, is not going to be released in cinemas.
Pratt said, "I'm thrilled that people get to watch this at home and have this experience right now. They deserve a summer blockbuster, and they can do it from the comfort of their own home in their pajamas. Just put your phone down. That's all."
'The Tomorrow War' shows a group of military personnel return from the future to the present day to draft everyday people to fight aliens that are destroying the planet.
Many are exceedingly ill-equipped, but Pratt, using his military background, hones his ragtag group of fighters into warriors.
Director Chris McKay said, "It's the army of the ordinary and I think that was the appeal for Chris, too, to play somebody who was an ordinary guy, someone who's an ex-military guy, who's a teacher and has got big dreams and big ambitions but he's just an average guy who gets put into an extraordinary circumstance."
"Everyone can see someone in this movie they can relate to," said Jasmine Mathews, who plays the leader of the drafters. She added, "One of the things I wish, I hope people take away from this is that you don't have to be some extraordinary person to save the world."
The film is similar in tone to many of Arnold Schwarzenegger's films. Schwarzenegger is now Pratt's father-in-law, so is he worried about showing the 'Terminator' star the finished product?
Pratt replied, "You know, if it was bad, I'd be nervous, but I'm thrilled because it's a great movie, so I can't wait for him to see it."
'The Tomorrow War' begins streaming on July 2.
