- Story Text: Iran's new Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian arrived in Syria on Sunday (August 29) where he met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad.
Syria Presidency quoted Assad saying that Syria and Iran's cooperation led to positive achievements especially in fighting terrorism. The Presidency also quoted Abdollahian saying that Ira will continue to support Syria in fighting all kinds of terrorism especially "economic terrorism" and its effects.
Abdollahian's visit comes a day after the Baghdad summit co-organised by France where Iranian and Gulf Arab officials met.
