- Story Text: Madonna hits New York with her latest children's book "Lotsa De Casha".
Madonna returned to New York on Tuesday (June 7) to read to children from her latest children's book "Lotsa De Casha," the story of the richest man in the world, who loses everything but gains a friend.
The singer turned author talked about writing for her favourite audience, young children.
"It's fun writing all of the books. I love writing for children because you can use your imagination, and break all the rules and kids are a more open audience," said Madonna.
Following the success of the last four books, Madonna said she was inspired to continue writing.
"Yes, I have written a sequel to the 'English Roses"
and I am going to continue a series for that book," said Madonna.
Not one to rest on her laurels, Madonna said she had lots of new projects coming up, including a new album and a film.
"Dance music, all dance music. I have a documentary that I have just finished as well. It is about me. It's a tour documentary," said Madonna.
Nicholas Callaway, the publisher of the books said that the success of the five book set was a welcome surprise.
"It has been a great success we have sold over two million copies in over forty languages in the last eighteen months, so we are very very pleased," said Callaway.
Earlier in the day, before the book launch, Madonna read her entire new book, to a small group of young children, who were unfazed by the celebrity book reader. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
