- Story Text: Mr. Mennen Williams, the former American Under-Secretary of State for African Affairs, visited the National Museum in Abidjan on Monday (17 January) during a 48-hour private visit to the Ivory Coast. The day before, he was received at a dinner by President Houphouet-Boigny.
Mr. Williams, a former Governor of Michigan and currently on the bench of the Michigan Supreme Court, held the post in the State Department during the administration of President John F. Kennedy.
