- Story Text: The 53rd anniversary of the 1918 Armistice was commemorated on Wednesday by a wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial in Abidjan.
The ceremony was arranged by officials of the French embassy, and attended by the Ambassador, M. Jacques Raphael Leygues. He was joined at the war memorial by M. Kouadjo M'Bahia Ble, Ivorian Minister of the Armed Forces, and General Thomas Ouattara d'Aquin, Chief of Staff of the Ivorian Armed Forces.
A large number of war veterans, proudly wearing their campaign medals, attended the wreath-laying.
