- Story Text: German Chancellor Angela Merkel's election rally in Dresden on Sunday (September 15) was disrupted by a camera drone flew around the stage where she was speaking.
The small craft dropped in front of the podium where the Christian Democrat candidate (CDU) was about to address her supporters, one week before the federal vote on September 22.
According to CDU members the drone was launched by a member of the Pirate party and was equipped with two cameras and a tablet computer.
The Pirate party member was asked to land the drone. Police let him go after it was decided the drone posed no threat to those on stage and Merkel's campaign went on unimpeded. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
