- Story Text: Saudi Arabia's Minister for Defence, Crown Prince Sultan Khalid Ibn Abdul Aziz, arrived in Amman, Jordan on Saturday (20 January) to start a four day state visit in which he will hold talks with Jordanian Ministers.
Observers believe the Middle-East situation will be one of the main topics for discussion between Prince Khalid and the Jordanian Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Ahmed Lawzi.
On his arrival at Amman Airport, Prince Khalid was greeted by the Prime Minter, the Commander-in-Chief of the Jordanian Armed forces Field Marshal Habis Aajali, and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Zaid Bin Shakar.
Prince Khalid is also expected to have a lengthy audience with Jordan's King Hussein during his stay.

Prince Khalid was greeted at the airport by the Jordanian Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Ahmed Lawzi, and the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Ahmed Al-Kuheimy. Prince Khalid planned to meet members of Jordan's Ministry of Defence. Observers believe the Middle-East situation will be one of the main topics for discussion.
Following the initial greetings at the airport, Prince Khalid was escorted to a dais where members of the Jordanian Armed Forces played the Saudi national anthem. Prime Minister Ahmed Lawzi took the salute with the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Habis Aajili.
Prince Khalid was invited to inspect a guard of honour formed at the airport for his arrival. As Saudi Defence Minister, Prince Khalid is expected to seek a closer military alliance with Jordan during his visit.
Before leaving for Amman, Prince Khalid was introduced to Jordanian Government officials with whom he'll be dealing during his stay. Prince Khalid also hopes to have an audience with King Hussein.
