- Story Text: It was a truly sparkling red carpet premiere on Monday (November 15) as Cher and Christina Aguilera debuted their new film, "Burlesque" at Hollywood's Grauman's Chinese Theater.
Cher walked to the carpet dressed to kill, sporting a sequenced mini. In the film, she plays the owner and headliner of a Burlesque dance club who finds talent in a small-town girl, played by Aguilera.
Cher said despite her decades in the spotlight, she still remembers the tough time she had making it big.
"You remember the years that you thought you were going to keep trying. You remember your dreams from when you were little and how everyone said you're not going to be able to do this and to give it up, get a real job. I made my mind up when I was four years-old at this theater."
"Burlesque" is packed full of dance and musical numbers - what should be pretty common place for Aguilera. But despite her experience as an entertainer, she said it was not an easy film to shoot.
"Just getting into it. The hard work was pretty grueling; we're talking 17, 18 hour days."
As for working with the legendary Cher, Aguilera said it couldn't have been better.
"Unbelievable. I mean, it's Cher. But you quickly forget that when working with her because she's so warm and giving and supportive and it was nice to walk away from the film with a new friend in her."
