- Story Text: STORY : Croatia's Janica Kostelic said on Friday she was feeling no pressure before the Turin Winter Games, where she will defend three gold medals in the women's Alpine skiing.
"There is no big difference between these Games and the last ones. The Olympic Games are the most important event for every athlete, but I also think we shouldn't raise too much fuss about it," the 25-year-old told a news conference at Zagreb airport before departing for Turin.
Kostelic's three golds and a silver in Salt Lake City made her the most sucessful Alpine skier in history at a single Olympics.
"It would be silly to say I don't expect anything, as I'm doing quite well in the World Cup this year, but I really couldn't say. Of course, I wish for the best, everyone comes to the Olympics wanting a medal," she said.
Kostelic leads the overall World Cup standings and will compete at all five events in Turin.
"So far I don't feel any pressure, it feels quite nice. We'll see if it changes when I get there," said the Croatian, who has battled injuries and health problems through her career.
Sporting a splint on her right hand, where she had been hit by a gate at an earlier World Cup race, Kostelic said her health was good now.
"The health is OK. This thing on the hand is nothing serious, just a reminder from a previous race." - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
