- Story Text: Winter continues to hold Germany in its icy grip with more snowfall bringing travel chaos back to winter-weary Germans.
At Frankfurt airport passengers suffering delays and cancellations tried to catch some sleep while in the Bavarian capital train passengers were treated to free hot drinks by German railways.
In Munich's central train station most passengers took the conditions in their stride. Franz-Gerd Hoenschenmeier said: "At the moment I don't know if I have been affected and on the other hand I am always surprised that such a little bit of snow causes so much chaos, there isn't even that much."
Oskar Klan echoed these thoughts. He said: "My God, that's what happens when it snows, and snow in winter is not unusual."
But Bettina Linse was furious at delays to the service, saying: "I think it's rubbish, I pay money for the service and something is always being cancelled."
Temperatures were milder but came with warnings from the German Weather Service that heavy snow squalls could be expected.
The weather service also warned of more snow and snow drifts.
