- Story Text: Lorry hijacking is a growing menace to manufacturers, retailers and trucking firms.
There have been many devices marketed over the years in an effort to beat hijackers.
Now, what is claimed to be the most advanced anti-hijacking system for vehicles in the world has been demonstrated in England.
The system incorporates unique electronic and fully automatic devices designed to operate on all types of vehicles....from private cars to articulated lorries. The company which developed them, AFA-Minerva, explains that the weakness of some systems is human failure to set off the alarms. The new range includes systems automatically set when the vehicle's engine is stopped, thus eliminating any operation by the driver.
