- Story Text: U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday (March 15) that the international community was standing by Japan, which faces a nuclear emergency caused by a devastating earthquake and tsunami that has killed thousands.
"Today the world comes together to support Japan in its hour of need," Clinton said at a meeting with her Japanese counterpart, Takeaki Matsumoto on the fringes of the Group of Eight foreign ministers meeting.
Matsumoto said he was grateful for the support being provided by the international community.
