- Story Text: Michael Jackson continued his first concert tour in three years delighting fans in Romania and Russia on the fourth leg of his "HiStory World Tour".
Jackson performed to thousands of screaming fans in Romania's capital Bucharest on Friday (September 13) before taking the show to Russia.
The star arrived in Moscow on Sunday (September 15) ahead of a concert at Dynamo Stadium on Tuesday attended by more than 45,000 fans.
A smiling Jackson, who was accompanied as usual by children during a visit to Red Square on Sunday, said he had fallen in love with the capital.
Fans have followed his every move, turning out in thousands at his every appearance, chanting "Michael, Michael".
The singer, who was wearing his trademark black surgical mask, abandoned his walk and scurried back to his van when the fans tried to get too close.
The 38-year-old Jackson chose Eastern Europe and Russia to launch his first tour in three years, seen as a bid to put his career back on track after allegations of child molestation.
Feted upon his arrival by city and government officials, Jackson had fans lining up outside the stadium for several hours before gates opened.
One young fan, Slava, had travelled with his parents for two days by train from Siberia to see Jackson's concert.
More than 40,000 fans cheered Jackson as he popped out of a space capsule at the start of the two-hour performance on Tuesday.
The following day, Jackson was out on Moscow streets being treated as a guest of honour by the Russian military.
The singer was welcomed at the Russian war memorial park, Poklonnaya Gora, by a uniformed military band.
Jackson listened to the band perform military and folk tunes before putting on a uniform and marching with them on the memorial grounds.
His three-month tour takes him to Europe, Africa and Asia. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
