- Story Text: German Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund held their final public training session on Wednesday (April 27) ahead of this weekend's match against Nuremberg where they could clinch the championship.
Dortmund were forced to put title celebrations on hold last Saturday (April 23) after a surprise 1-0 defeat at relegation-threatened Borussia Moenchengladbach cut their lead at the top to just five points.
Dortmund have 69 points with second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, who beat Hoffenheim 2-1 last weekend, on 64 with three matches remaining.
A win against Nuremberg and a Cologne victory over Leverkusen on Saturday (April 30) will see Dortmund crowned champions.
Fans watching their training session on Wednesday appeared confident that the leaders would finish the job this weekend.
"I think they'll make it," one man told Reuters Television.
"Leverkusen, I mean they are five points apart. It'll work out. Dortmund will be champion," he added.
"Leverkusen will draw in Cologne on Saturday and Dortmund will win. It's a done deal," said another fan, Andreas Schaeffer. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
