- Story Text:Several hundred Christian worshippers attended Palm Sunday (April 9) procession in Jerusalem, on the day that marked the start of Holy Week, which ends on Easter Sunday.
The faithful in Jerusalem waved palm fronds and branches commemorating the day the Bible says Jesus rode into Jerusalem to the cheers of the crowds the week before Christians believe he rose from the dead.
Palestinian Christians, worshippers, pilgrims and tourists, accompanied by clergymen, marched down the Mount of Olives toward the old city of Jerusalem while holding palm branches and chanting hymns. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
