- Story Text: Powerball players in Washington, D.C. lined up for their tickets late on Friday (February 10), hoping to pick the lucky numbers to win an estimated $325 million (USD) jackpot.
A steady stream of customers came into the Tenley Mini Market and paid 2 dollars a ticket, knowing that just one ticket could change one's life.
If she won, Agueda Cestino said she would give a lot of the money away.
"It's kind of a big money, so maybe I have to share something like that to my friends and my relatives and make a donation," Cestino said.
Lottery player Anthony Pratt said he played the lottery with the hope that if he won, he could help his brother who needs a new pancreas.
"I would help myself, then my brother, my brother and my family and friends. I know that if I hit Powerball I would be broke probably in a month because I would end up giving it away," Pratt said.
Dominic Law had one wish if he won.
"Take a long vacation from everything," he said.
Media reports said the estimated $325 million (USD) is the ninth largest annuity prize in U.S. history.
The drawing will be held at 10.59 p.m. est (0359 gmt) on Saturday (February 11). - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
