- Story Text: Peruvian authorities have dealt a severe blow to
drugtraffickers with the incineration of a little more than 4
tonnes of drugs.
Peruvian authorities incinerated on Thursday (May 30)
a little more than four tonnes of drugs that were seized
during operations since January.
The drugs that were incinerated included a little over
1,670 kilos of basic cocaine paste, 1,489 kilos of marijuana,
five kilos of opium, 85 kilos of opium latex and 500 grams of
heroine.
According to reports, the drugs would have had a total
street value of close to $41 million in the United States.
Peruvian authorities also reported that the total amount of
drugs incinerated was equivalent to 13,548,744 individual
doses.
