Marie Laure de Lorenzi Taya of France won the 125,000 US Dollar French Women's Open Golf Championship on 12th June after a play-off against her compatriot Caroline Bourtayre at the Fourqueux course.
De Lorenzi Taya triumphed at the fourth extra hole as Bourtayre, an amateur, hit a branch with her second shot at the par 18th hole. Barcelona-based Taya, who turned professional last year, scored her third victory on the circuit and her first of the year.
Britain's Alison Nicholas tied with Lori Planos of the USA for third place, two strokes overall behind the leading pair.
