- Story Text: There are many crazy soccer fans and maybe he is not the craziest, but Didi Senft is certainly among them...
Dressed as the devil, he cheers fans from everywhere, in every town in Germany where there are matches, no matter who is playing. Kitted out with horns, a large fork and a contagious enthusiasm, the bearded German practises international understanding by cheering with fans from all over the world.
In Hanover Senft sang with Swiss fans, had his picture taken with the Koreans and brought a smile to every one's face.
"You don't have to be a football fan," says Senft. "The enthusiasm of those fans contagious, no matter what kind of sports it is. The only important thing is that we have fun and are happy."
The first outing of 'El Diablo', as he is known, was 1993 at the Tour-de-France. Since then the 48-year-old artist, inventor and designer of bicycles from the little town of Kolpin in the Black Forest, can be seen at every big race or match - every day. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
