- Story Text: Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama has introduced
some 5,000 followers in northern Germany into the world of
Buddhism
The Dalai Lama will hold a week-long meeting in the
small town of Schneverdingen, south of Hamburg, to introduce
new people to Buddhism.
Followers of Buddhism and Tibetan exiles gathered on
Monday (October 26) for meetings and prayers in several tents
set up for the occasion, entitled "the Buddhist way to
happiness."
Tibet has been occupied by China since 1949.According to
the exiled Tibetan government based in the northern Indian
town of Dharamsala, some six million Tibetans and 7.5 million
Chinese live in the region.
