- Story Text: Top Shi'ite leaders have summoned heads of tribes
and informed them that any one of their tribes committing
an act of killing or looting would be killed immediately.
Top Shi'ite leaders met in the city of al-Sadr in
order to discuss amongst other subjects the increasing
crime.
The heads of tribes condemned cases of burglary,
killing and looting that some Iraqi citizens might be
expose to. "We have written a document between us
(the clerics) and them (tribal chiefs) in which we have
decided that any one committed burglary, looting or
killing should be killed," Sheikh Abdul-Hadi al-Daraji
said.
Crimes are thriving in the country after the fall of
Baghdad on April 9.
