- Story Text:Striker Robbie Keane will leave the Los Angeles Galaxy when his contract expires at the end of this year, the team announced Thursday (November 17).
The 36-year-old from Ireland spent six seasons with the Major League Soccer club, winning three MLS Cups and being named the league Most Valuable Player in 2014.
"Robbie's been a tremendous leader, we've won championships with him, he's been a prolific scorer and arguably one of the best designated players in the history of the league," Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena said. "He's had a fabulous six years, I think the LA Galaxy and our fans are indebted to the contributions Robbie's given to our club."
