- Title: USA: AMERICAN FILM PREMIERE OF COMEDY "MADE" WHICH INCLUDES RAP SINGER SEAN COMBS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
- Date: 18th June 2001
- Summary: LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (JUNE 18) (REUTERS) SCU (SOUNDBITE) (ENGLISH) JON FAVREAU SAYING " I'm married. I'm getting ready to have a kid. Kid's coming out the same week the movie is. Both, double release week for me and then, you know, it just would've been so silly to have us chasing women around as a bunch of 30 year olds, 35 year olds, you know, there's a certain pathetic quality to guys who can't figure dating out at that age, you know, as opposed to when we were in our late 20's. There's a charm to it. There was an innocence. Now, we're starting to meet people. We're starting to be players in this world, just like the characters in "Made" are just starting to become players in this sort of underworld."

- Story Text: Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn, the boys from the sleeper hit hipster comedy "Swingers," reunited on Tuesday, July 10 in New York City for the World Premiere of their latest comedy "Made," about a couple of wanna-be mobsters on their first job. Recording artist Sean "Puffy" Combs, who has a supporting role in the film, also put in an appearance.
Favreau and Vaughn became stars five years ago when they wrote and starred in the low-budget hipster comedy "Swingers" for director Doug Liman. Since that time, both actors have gone away to work in larger-budget studio pictures, always with the intention and desire to get back together and make another comedy.
Rather than make a sequel to "Swingers," Favreau decided to write a comedy called "Made," about two 30-something blue collar types who, desperate to get out of their depressing financial condition, try to make names for themselves in the mob.
Although the story and location is different from "Swingers," much of the chemistry between the two lead actors remains intact, as does the look and feel of the film. Aside from Favreau and Vaughn, the cast includes Peter Falk as the old-time mob boss who hires them and rap star Sean "Puffy"
Combs, in his feature film debut, as Ruiz, a downtown Manhattan gangster.
"Made" also marks Jon Favreau's debut as a feature film director, but he conceeds that, on smaller films such as this one, the roles are more blurred and, in fact, he and Vince Vaughn shared many of the writing and directing duties, a similar arrangement they had when working on "Swingers."
"Made" opens in theaters throughout the United States on Friday, July 13. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
