- Story Text: Russian and Finnish presidents Vladimir Putin and Sauli Niinisto opened on Tuesday (September 24) a gas power plant in Western Siberia.
The new Nyagan power plant in the Khanty-Mansiysk region 1,760 kilometres (1,100 miles) east of Moscow is owned and operated by the Finnish company Fortum.
It is the largest greenfield thermal plant built in Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
