- Story Text: New signing Mattia De Sciglio joined Juventus for training in the U.S. Friday (July 21) ahead of their weekend friendly with Barcelona as the teams prepare for the upcoming season.
De Sciglio, who spent his first four years in Serie A with AC Milan and manager Massimilano Allegri, was pleased to reunited with his former coach at Juventus.
"It was very important to have him here because he gave me my first opportunity in my first year professionally," De Sciglio said of Allegri at a news conference.
Juventus and Barcelona spent Friday training at Red Bull Arena just outside of New York City but will play their International Champions Cup match Saturday (July 22) at the bigger MetLife Stadium.
The game will be the first time the two sides have met since Juventus knocked Barca out of the UEFA Champions League in April with a 3-0 aggregate win. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
