- Story Text: The German city of Goslar issued a disaster alert on Wednesday (July 26) as murky water flooded the city centre.
Days of heavy rainfall have turned streams into torrents and caused what are usually small rivers to burst their banks, leaving garages, cellars and some houses under water. Parts of the 40,000-strong city were also evacuated.
Local media reported that other nearby towns in the state of Lower Saxony had also been flooded. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
