- Story Text:France fans expressed their joy on Thursday (July 7) night after their team made it to the Euro 2016 final.
France have found a new hero in Antoine Griezmann and the striker has his eyes firmly set on lifting the Euro 2016 trophy after his two goals fired Les Bleus past Germany into Sunday's (July 10) final against Portugal.
Griezmann slammed home a first-half penalty, following a needless handball from Bastian Schweinsteiger, and then poked in the second after the break to secure the host nation's first competitive win over Germany.
It was the first time France had beaten Germany in a competitive match since the 1958 World Cup, including defeats in the semi-finals of the 1982 and 1986 World Cups and the quarter-finals two years ago.
Now France are seeking their first European title since beating Italy in the final in 2000, their last major tournament success. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
