This trial has proved a tremendous ordeal not only for Jonathan Woodgate but also for the Najeib family and with whom Jonathan has every sympathy. Jonathan is a 21 year-old professional footballer of outstanding talent and outstanding ability who wishes to put this episode of his life behind him and resume his footballing career as soon as possible." 7. Yet the jury had only convicted one person of this savage and racist attack. The last three months have been a living hell for my family. Our lives have been totally shattered. We are talking about young lads who are human beings who in the time that there not playing football presumably they have to relax and enjoy the things that everyone of us would do socially. But in the other hand you have to use alcohol in a way which it does not impact the way which way you go about your daily lives. We feel very strongly about that."
